My 26th Birthday Wish

My 26th Birthday Wish
From Chloe Malauulu
My name is Chloe Malauulu and I’m Vivian’s firstborn. Today is my 26th birthday. I was born on Mother’s Day in 2000, so my mom spent her very first Mother’s Day giving birth to me. Ever since then, she has spent her life showing up for me, my siblings, and so many other people.
Here’s a photo of my mom holding me just moments after she walked across the stage to receive her master’s degree. I was only 12 days old.

As long as I can remember, my mom has always been there. She was the class mom, the team mom, the band mom, and the mom volunteering in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, and somehow making it to everything while working full time and raising four kids.
Earlier this week, many of you read that my mom officially graduated from Arizona State University with her doctorate. Our family could not be more proud of her. This was a dream she first had when she was still in high school, but for many years she put that dream on hold so she could focus on our family, supporting her students, serving her union, and giving back to the community she loves.
Here’s a photo of our family at her graduation on Monday.

Now, I’m asking you to please be there for my mom.
We are less than three weeks away from Election Day, and this weekend is the final financial reporting deadline before the election.
It’s the last opportunity for contributions to count toward the closing reporting period before Election Day.
So for my 26th birthday, I’m asking you to please consider making a contribution of $26, or donating a few hours of your time to help us phone bank or walk precincts during these final weeks.
I know my mom will make an incredible city councilmember because I’ve watched her dedicate her entire life to public service.
Whether it was our family, her students, Long Beach City College, the ILWU, or our community, she has always led with hard work, compassion, and an unbelievable sense of responsibility to others.
One thing my mom has always told us is, “The biggest room in the world is room for improvement.” That mindset has shaped how my siblings and I approach life, and I know she’ll bring that same energy and determination to serving District 7.
Right now, we are entering the final stretch of this campaign. If you have not already maxed out your contribution, I hope you will consider making one final donation to help my mom reach the finish line. The maximum contribution is $500 and this is the last opportunity you have for your donation to count before Election Day.
If contributing financially is not possible, we would truly appreciate your time. We’ve been phone banking from our house every evening and knocking on doors every single day. Each volunteer is truly making a difference.

My mom has worked incredibly hard on this campaign for more than a year, and very soon we’ll find out whether all that hard work paid off. We would love for you to be part of these final days with us.
Thank you so much for believing in my mom and for supporting our family.
Here’s a recent photo of us taken when we were in Honduras last year.

With gratitude,
Chloe Malauulu
