Flowers & Football & the Future

From Vivian

Thank you so much for an incredible weekend of community! We closed out our 2025 fundraisers with two wonderful events, and I am truly grateful for the support, attendance, laughter, and good times we shared together.

On Saturday, we hosted a holiday centerpiece-making fundraiser in our backyard. We were honored to partner with the lovely Margaret Rose, who did a fantastic job guiding us through the art of creating beautiful floral centerpieces. I learned very quickly that there is much more to floral design than I ever imagined! Our guests had a great time, enjoyed a delicious brunch, and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Meaningful conversations about our community and the 7th District unfolded naturally, all against the backdrop of flowers, creativity, and connection. A special shout-out to Margaret’s assistant, Sergio, for his helpfulness and patience.

On Sunday, we gathered at Long Beach Unified Bar & Lounge for a football-themed open house hosted by Ms. Robbie Butler and Mr. Chuckie Miller. It was a great afternoon spent with our extended football family and lots of new friends. We watched games, talked about our boys’ and nephews’ seasons, and—like any good football crowd—turned ourselves into coaches and players for the day. It was relaxing, fun, and full of good energy. A shout-out to Kutenthekitchen for providing delicious soul food that everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and an extra-special shout-out to Blue, our wonderful bartender, who was so warm and welcoming and quickly became a crowd favorite. You must try her signature drink, “The Blue,” the next time you’re there!

We do not have any more campaign events planned for the remainder of 2025. Over the coming weeks, we will be working hard to organize our financial report, review all donations received, and officially close out our books for the year. I am deeply grateful for your continued support and generosity—it truly means so much to me.

In a few days, I will be announcing several events for 2026, so please keep an eye out for that email and save the dates on your calendar. Here’s one preview: my birthday is January 2nd and we’ll be celebrating at one of my all-time favorite restaurants that night!

Until then, I wish you and your loved ones a very joyous and very safe holiday season. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, and thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Looking forward to seeing you,

Vivian Malauulu
