VIP Invitation to Music & Mingle

Email from Vivian

One of the things I’ve been intentional about in this campaign is reimagining how we show up in politics. I want our campaign to feel like Long Beach. It should be welcoming, enjoyable, and interesting. It is important to me that we are rooted in community and connected to the places and stories that have shaped who we are.

That’s why our next fundraiser means so much to me.

On Sunday, November 16th, we will gather at the World Famous V.I.P. Records — a landmark not only in Long Beach history, but in music history. This is not just a location. It is a cultural institution where creativity, identity, and community come together to influence the world.

I am deeply grateful to the Anderson Family for opening their doors and hearts to host this event. I’ve known them since I was a kid and they have always been solid. I went to school with members of their family.  In my ten years serving as a Long Beach City College Trustee, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside V.I.P. Records to support emerging talent, youth, and artists — including sending LBCC students to the studio to learn beat-making, production, and digital creativity firsthand.

V.I.P. Records has given so much to our community—they show up, they share their time, talent, and history, they build genuine relationships, and they welcome everyone. I’ve personally witnessed their work with disabled members of our community who use music as therapy.

This event is about more than fundraising — it’s about celebrating who we are and investing in the neighborhoods and cultural spaces that hold our stories.

Highlights:

  • Exclusive conversation with the Anderson Family about VIP’s legacy

  • Studio tour of the recording space

  • Record your own personally curated music track with a producer

  • Light refreshments and community fellowship

  • Space is limited to ensure a small, hands-on studio experience

Suggested Contribution: $100 (this experience is valued at $300+)

This is a wonderful holiday gift idea for anyone in your life who loves music, culture, history, or creative expression.

Thank you for supporting a campaign that reflects the spirit of our community where we learn together, create together, and uplift each other.

Space is limited! Click on the flyer below to RSVP:

 See you there!
