Local Elections Matter Most, So We Can’t Sit This One Out

From Vivian

The most important elections are often the ones closest to home.

The decisions made at the local level are the ones that impact us directly every single day. They affect our neighborhoods, public safety, parks, traffic, housing, environmental health, small businesses, and the overall quality of life in our community.

Local government shapes the streets we drive on, the parks where our children play, the businesses where we shop and dine, and the services our families rely on every day. These decisions are not abstract. They affect real people, real families, and real neighborhoods right here at home.

That is why voting in local elections is both a privilege and a responsibility.

This primary election is critically important because it will determine who advances to the General Election in November. Every single vote matters right now, and I strongly encourage everyone to return their ballots as soon as possible.

My family has always believed that voting matters and that helping get out the vote is equally important. Democracy only works when communities show up for one another, and that is exactly what we are doing during these final days of this campaign.

If you are able, I hope you will consider volunteering your time to help us phone bank, text voters, or canvass neighborhoods before Election Day.

I also want to express my sincere gratitude for the support of local elected officials with whom I have built strong working relationships over many years of public service. Their trust and support mean a great deal to me, and I look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with them to serve our community.

I am honored to have earned the endorsements of:

  • Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn

  • Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson

  • Long Beach District 1 Councilmember Mary Zendejas

  • Long Beach District 2 Councilmember Cindy Allen

  • Long Beach District 5 Councilmember Megan Kerr

  • Long Beach District 6 Councilmember Suely Saro

  • Long Beach District 8 Councilmember Tunua Thrash-Ntuk

  • Long Beach District 9 Councilmember Joni Ricks-Oddie

You can read their endorsement quotes and view additional endorsements here.

Finally, our Get Out the Vote efforts are going strong all week long, and this Saturday will be our FINAL group canvass before Election Day.

Click on the flyer below to join us as we make our final push across District 7!

Thank you again for your support, encouragement, and belief in this campaign. We are in the final stretch now, and every conversation, every volunteer, and every vote truly matters.

Let’s finish strong together.

With deep gratitude,

Dr. Vivian Malauulu

Candidate for Long Beach City Council District 7
