I want to take a moment to say thank you—truly and sincerely.
This past Saturday, I was overwhelmed by the incredible turnout for our very first Community Walk Day. To every single volunteer who showed up, gave your time, knocked on doors, made calls, and represented this campaign with heart and integrity—thank you. It meant more than I can put into words.
A very special thank you to Sirenitas on Willow for opening their doors to us and fueling our team with delicious Honduran baleadas in the morning and tasty Honduran tacos in the afternoon. Your support and hospitality set the tone for a beautiful day of community.
I also want to recognize the many people working behind the scenes and in the field every single day:
Thank you to our very dedicated phone bankers who have already made hundreds of calls to voters across the district. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Shout out to my Mami who has logged in about 10 hours of phone banking and has made some 200 calls! If you know my Mom, you know she’s a social butterfly and she’s making new friends with every call!
Our amazing meet and greet hosts who have opened their homes in an effort to activate our community. I’ve been in living rooms, backyards, front yards, and driveways across District 7 and it has been the most meaningful part of this journey. Thank you for introducing me to your neighbors and bringing people together. Meet and greets have always been my favorite part of campaigning and this season has set the bar really high for the most inspiring conversations.
Thank you to neighbors across the district who are proudly displaying lawn signs. We are delivering new ones daily thanks to growing support throughout the community. Check out the sign that my sweet neighbor on Columbia Street made…it is a much better sign than my professionally printed ones!

This campaign is powered by you, and I am so grateful.
Now… let’s do it again! We have one more Community Walk Day this month:
Date: Saturday, April 18
Location: El Esquite
Training: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM (sharp)
Walking: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Debrief and lunch: 11:30 AM – 12PM

We’d love for you to join us. Please RSVP so we can make sure we have enough breakfast, lunch, and walking kits prepared for everyone.
No experience is necessary! Just wear comfortable shoes and a willingness to connect with your community. No one walks alone; experienced walkers will be paired with new volunteers. Spanish and Filipino speakers are especially welcome.
If you joined us last week, you already know how powerful this experience is. If you’ve never knocked on doors during a political campaign, this is your moment!
Sincerely,
Dr. Vivian Malauulu
Candidate for Long Beach City Council, District 7
